Restaurants

I've thoroughly enjoyed trying new restaurants in and around the Atlanta-area. I'm amazed that I was able to accomplish the goal within 4 months of starting this list. I will continue to add to it here.

1.Rosebud's- April 30, 2010- with my parents and Blake. We started with the cheese sampler, I had a Brooklyn lager and for dinner I had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and slaw. For dessert I had drunken cherry bread pudding with ice cream. YUM
2. Six Feet Under-May 20, 2010- on the rooftop patio. Very good crab cakes, superb steamed shrimp and scallops in parchment paper, good drinks and meeting nice new people, (Elyssa & Adam)
3. Salt Factory- June 19, 2010- in Historic Roswell. Met up with old friends, Kim & Mike from MD and had a great meal and even better time catching up! The portabella mushroom sandwich was phenomenal!
4. Yeah Burger!- don't remember the day- but had a great turkey burger and al fresco dining with Blake, Mikki, Matt & Hayden. Will definitely return.
5. Provino's- July 23, 2010- Blake and I decided to try a local D'ville place. Really good salad, garlic rolls, baked ziti and a pretty good glass of cabernet. Will definitely go back!
6. Holeman and Finch- July 25, 2010- Blake, Joey and I descended upon this trendy Public House for the infamous burger. Yep, it's called "The Burger". I had a spectacular Pimms Cup (english beverage) to start, we all shared pimento cheese spread and deviled eggs (OMG!) and then each had "The Burger". It comes with homemade bread and butter pickles, homemade ketchup, homemade mustard and hand cut french fries. No wonder why people line up during the week to get one of the 24 made nightly. (We caught onto the sunday brunch-on the menu-not in short supply-secret.) Absolutely will be back because their desserts looked amazing too!
7. August 5, 2010- My friend Kim and I went to dinner at the Original El Taco in Virginia Highlands. Supber guac and lime chips, excellent frozen mojito (potent too!) and great grilled shrimp taco and grilled chicken taco. Very popular place too. Will be back! We then went to the San Francisco Brewing Company for a coffee and more of a chat. Very cool vibe :)
8. Wallace BBQ- Austell GA- August 10, 2010- local BBQ joint where we had dinner with the Russel's. Great local BBQ! pulled pork, baked potato, fries with pulled pork and melted cheddar cheese with ranch dipping sauce, fantastic sweet tea..YUM
9. Blue Agave- Douglasville, GA- Jan 14, 2011- New restaurant in D'ville. Food was pretty good but the wait was CRAZY- I had chicken fajitas that were nice and the salsa was good. Will try one more time before deciding the wait doesn't equal the quality of food.
10.  Lime Taqueria- Smyrna, GA Jan 16, 2011- Went to dinner with Marc and Lara. Had chicken fajitas again :) The atmosphere was cool and the company great. Would definitely go back.
11. Highland Tap- Virginia Highlands- Feb 5, 2011. Dinner with Matt and Mikki, sans kid. We started with pimento cheese- pretty good. For dinner I had filet oscar. It was seriously one of the best steaks of my life. The asparagus and mashed potatoes were amazing too. Creme brulee for dessert was good too. The atmosphere is like a very old money steakhouse but with a much younger vibe. Would definitely love to go back soon!
12. Food 101- March 2, 2011- Dinner with Molly. I had a persimmon mojito, we shared the tuna tartare tostodas, and I had a mole burrito. It was fabulous! Great atmosphere and service. Would definitely go back.
13. Truffles Cafe- March 9, 2011- Dinner with Nai and baby Tai. Very good house salad, amazing chicken potpie and a very nice time catching up with a friend and her new bundle of joy.
14. Howell Mill Food Park- June 21, 2011- We tried a chicken taco, a korean beef taco and a pulled pork at Yamii Food Truck, a Poodle (french toasted hot dog bun, hot dog, apple slaw, topped with spicy mustard and maple syrup), coke float, chocolate elvis rice krispie treat and popsicles from King of Pops (chocolate sea salt to be exact)- very fun time and we hope to go back soon
15. Farm Burger- August 13, 2011- Great local food- the white cheddar spread on the burgers are awesome and the root beer float was a nice treat
16. Miller Union- September 8, 2011
17. Blue Eyed Daisy Shop- August 2011- breakfast sandwich for Blake and yogurt with homemade granola for me. upscale rustic feel- nice vibe
18. Oz Pizza- September 2011
